Marc Krauss extends hitting streak to 13 consecutive games
(Bridgeport, Conn., July 28, 2017) – The Long Island Ducks fell to the Bridgeport Bluefish 8-7 Friday night at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard in the opener of a three-game series.

The Ducks (9-11; 45-45) took the lead in the top of the third inning, sending 10 batters to the plate and scoring six runs on five hits against Bluefish starter Ross Seaton. The frame was highlighted by a two-run single from Delta Cleary Jr. and RBI doubles from Jordan Pacheco and Angelo Songco.
Bridgeport (12-9; 53-38) answered back against Long Island starter Tyler Levine with three runs in the bottom of the fourth, led by a two-run home run from Daniel Fields. The Bluefish took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the fifth while chasing Levine with one out and sending nine batters to the dish. Levine allowed six runs on six hits in 4.1 innings, walking four and striking out three and getting no decision.
In the top of the ninth, Elmer Reyes led off by lacing a ground rule double off Elvin Ramirez and was pinch run for by Dan Lyons. Ruben Gotay grounded out to advance Lyons to third, and an opposite-field single by Giovanny Alfonzo plated Lyons to tie the game at seven.
Two Long Island errors and an intentional walk in the bottom of the ninth loaded the bases with one out for Jose Gil, who lifted a sacrifice fly off David Aardsma to score D’Arby Myers with the winning run. Ramirez got the win to improve to 3-1, while Aardsma got the loss, dropping to 1-2 on the season.
The Ducks continue their three-game series with the Bridgeport Bluefish on Saturday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:12 p.m. from The Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at a special time of 4:45 for a charity softball game between the Oyster Bay Police Department and QSAC (Quality Services for the Autism Community). It’s a Thirsty Thursday, and the Duck Club restaurant and bar, normally reserved for VIP/season ticket holders, will be open for all fans to enjoy.
