Elmer Reyes extends on-base streak to 20 straight games in defeat
(Central Islip, N.Y., Sept. 9, 2017) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Bridgeport Bluefish 4-0 on Saturday night in the middle game of a three-game series at Bethpage Ballpark.

Ozney Guillen opened the scoring in the second inning with a two-out, two-run single to left field off Ducks starter Bruce Kern. Bridgeport added a third run in the fourth when Andrew Lambo scored from third base on a double play ball.
It stayed 3-0 until to the top of the eighth when a two-out RBI single to center by Lambo plated Bridgeport’s fourth run.
Bluefish starter Dominic Severino (1-0) earned the win, pitching five scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out seven. Kern (0-1) took the loss, giving up two runs on three hits with one strikeout in one and two-thirds innings. Five Ducks relievers combined to allow just two runs and strike out seven batters over seven and two-thirds innings of work.
The Ducks and Bluefish wrap up their three-game set on Sunday afternoon. Game time is slated for 1:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 12:35 (12:20 for full season ticket holders). It’s Fan Appreciation Day at the ballpark, featuring the Great Gift Card Giveaway. Every inning, the Ducks will select a lucky seat throughout the ballpark. The fan holding the ticket to that seat will win a $100 gift card to a select Long Island restaurant, courtesy of Pepsi. It’s also a Sunday Family Funday! Prior to the game, fans will be invited onto the field for an autograph session with the Ducks from 12:50 to 1:05. After the game, kids and kids at heart can take part in Kids Run the Bases, presented by Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Right-hander Jake Dunning (2-2, 3.92) toes the rubber for the Ducks against Bluefish righty Charles Brewer (8-6, 4.23).
