The Ducks batted around in the first inning and put up three runs against Barnstormers starter J.D. Durbin. Bases loaded walks to Timo Perez and Brandon Sing along with a RBI fielder’s choice from Bryant Nelson did the damage. The ‘Stormers got a run back in the second on Emerson Frostad’s RBI single to right off Ducks starter Chris McCoy.

Sing pushed the lead back to three with a mammoth solo home run to left in the third, and Matt Esquivel added a run-scoring single to left in the fourth. Esquivel struck again in the sixth with a three-run homer to left to balloon the advantage to 8-1.

McCoy (2-0) went the distance for the complete game victory, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out five. Durbin (9-9) also tossed a complete game but suffered the loss, surrendering eight runs on eight hits and eight walks in eight innings.

Sing and Esquivel led the Flock with two hits apiece.
