(York, Pa., Sept. 1, 2026) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the York Revolution 4-3 on Tuesday evening in the opener of a six-game series at WellSpan Park.
Long Island jumped out in front 1-0 in the top half of the fourth inning on Alsander Womack’s one-out run-scoring double against York starting pitcher Zach Mort. The Ducks made it 2-0 in their favor in the seventh on Henry Kusiak’s RBI base hit.
York took their first lead of the contest at 3-2 in the eighth on Jacob Teter’s three-run home run to right field versus Long Island reliever Rafael Kelly. The Flock went back out in front 4-3 in the ninth on back-to-back sacrifice flies from Kusiak and Jorge Bonifacio that plated pinch-runners Kole Kaler with the tying-run and Chris Roller with the go-ahead tally. After pinch-hitter Oscar Hernandez was hit by a pitch thrown by Ducks closer Ramon Santos in the last of the ninth, the winning run was at the plate in Tomo Otosaka, but the Revolution outfielder grounded into a fielder’s choice to shortstop Wilmer Difo which gave Santos his team-leading 11th save of the season.
Neither starter factored into the decision. Ducks starter Clark Candiotti fired three scoreless innings on two hits allowed, walking one while striking out two. Mort allowed one run on six hits over six innings of work, walking and striking out five. Kelly (2-1) picked up the victory, giving up three runs on three hits in one inning of relief. Cam Robinson (0-2) suffered the loss, surrendering two runs on two hits in one inning on the mound to go along with a strikeout.
Womack had three hits and an RBI. Gavin Collins collected a pair of hits, a run scored and a walk. Aaron Antonini notched two hits and a while, while Kusiak chipped in with a single and two RBI’s.
