(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 2, 2026) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Staten Island FerryHawks 5-3 on Sunday evening in the final game of a six-game series at Fairfield Properties Ballpark.

Long Island took a 1-0 lead in the second inning against FerryHawks starter Charlie Adamson when Alsander Womack hustled out a two-out RBI infield single to short. Staten Island answered in the third to go in front on Anthony Abbatine’s three-run home run off the left field foul pole against Ducks starter Nick Margevicius. Brandon Wagner’s leadoff solo homer to left in the fourth made it 4-1 FerryHawks.

It stayed that way until the eighth when a two-out RBI single to left by Lamar Briggs pushed the visitors’ led to four. Long Island rallied for two runs in the ninth on Jacob Robson’s leadoff solo homer to right and Aaron Takacs’ two-out RBI single through the right side. However, they could not complete the comeback.

Adamson (2-5) earned the win, tossing five innings and allowing one unearned run on two hits and a walk while striking out three. Margevicius (1-1) took the loss, conceding four runs on six hits and a walk in five innings with three strikeouts.
