GAME AUDIO: Highlights from the offensive showcase

The Ducks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning against Blue Crabs starter Scott Snodgress. Fehlandt Lentini homered to left-center on the first pitch of the game, and two more runs came across on an error and a wild pitch. Three more runs in the second on consecutive RBI singles from Delta Cleary Jr., Ruben Gotay and Cody Puckett doubled the lead to six.

Following an RBI double by Lentini in the third, the Blue Crabs scored twice in the bottom of the inning against Ducks starter Darin Downs. An RBI double by Bryant Nelson and an RBI single by Zach Wilson closed the gap to 7-2. However, an RBI single by Mike Blanke and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Matt Wessinger in the fourth pushed the advantage back up to seven at 9-2.

The offense continued in the fifth inning with four more runs against former Duck Ian Marshall. A two-run homer to right by Ruben Gotay, another sac fly by Wessinger and an RBI single by Lentini ballooned the lead to 13-2. A sac fly to right by Blanke in the eighth rounded out the scoring for the Ducks.

Downs (4-3) earned the win, tossing six innings of two-run ball, allowing six hits and a walk while striking out four. Snodgress (1-4) suffered the loss, surrendering seven runs (five earned) on eight hits and three walks in just three innings with three strikeouts.

Long Island tied a season high with 20 hits in the ballgame, as everyone reached base at least once. Lentini led the Flock with four hits, while Gotay, Puckett, Blanke and Anthony Vega each added three. Lentini drove in three runs and scored twice, while Gotay had three RBI and four runs scored.
