Long Island wins fifth consecutive series
(Central Islip, N.Y., July 21, 2013) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Camden Riversharks 10-4 on Sunday night in the finale of a four-game series at Bethpage Ballpark.

Ramon Castro opened the scoring with a two-run single to left field in the first inning for the Ducks. Camden scored a run on a fielder’s choice in the second, but Bill Hall answered back with a RBI double in the third. Castro and Adam Bailey stroked RBI singles in the fifth inning to stretch the Long Island lead to four.
Bryant Nelson added a RBI single in the sixth inning for Long Island, but Valentino Pascucci hit a solo home run, and Michael Grieco singled home a run for the Riversharks in the top of the seventh inning to cut the lead to three. Dionys Cesar drove in a run with single in the eighth inning for Camden, but the Ducks scored four runs in the bottom of the frame to put the game out of reach.
Ducks starter Nick DeBarr (2-6) picked up the win, throwing six innings of one-hit, three-run ball. Camden starter Jake Hale (1-1) took the loss, allowing six runs on 12 hits in six innings.
Nelson led the Ducks with four hits while Hall and Ramon Castro each had three. Castro drove in four runs while Nelson scored four runs.
The Ducks hit the road to open a three-game set with the Riversharks Monday night. First pitch from Campbell’s Field is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.. Right-hander John Brownell is slated to start for the Ducks against Camden righty Josh Walter. Long Island returns home on Monday, July 29 to take on the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05. Duck Tales: Nick DeBarr threw six no-hit innings for the second time this season. The first time occurred in his first start of the season on April 21 at Sugar Land when he had a perfect game for six innings…Ramon Castro recorded his second four-RBI game and sixth multi-RBI game overall. He also had three hits for the third time, and his 13th multi-hit game overall…Bryant Nelson posted his first four-hit game and 25th multi-hit game overall. He joins Josh Barfield, Danny Perales and Joash Brodin as Ducks with four hits in a game this season. Nelson also scored four runs, becoming the first Duck to do so in a single game this season…Bill Hall put up his third three-hit game and ninth multi-hit game overall. He also drove in two runs for the fifth time in 2013. He has nine multi-RBI games on the campaign…Joash Brodin picked up his 27th two-hit game and 37th multi-hit game overall. He leads the Ducks in both categories. Brodin has now hit safely in seven consecutive games and in nine of his last 10 contests…Adam Bailey posted his 20th two-hit game and 23rd multi-hit game on the season…The Ducks have now won all five series they have played in the second half of the season and are a season-best eight games over .500 at 12-4.
