Ducks starter Dennis O’Grady was magnificent for the Ducks, coming within six outs of a no-hitter. He surrendered a single hit in seven innings, yielding a single to center field by Adam Donachie to begin the eighth inning. The righty walked three batters and struck out eight in the outing.

Long Island took a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning on a mammoth solo home run to left field by Alex Burg off of Patriots starter Rick Teasley. The Ducks doubled the advantage to two in the eighth on Anthony Vega’s two-out RBI single to left.

Teasley lasted seven and two-thirds innings, yielding two runs on five hits while striking out nine. Somerset rallied back for three runs in the ninth to take a 3-2 lead. Carlos Guzman’s two-run double tied the game, and an RBI single by Adam Donachie put the Patriots in front.

For the second straight night, the Ducks rallied back in the bottom of the ninth to win in walk-off fashion. An RBI double by Marc Krauss tied the game at three, and an error by Patriots second baseman Tyler Bortnick on a ground ball off the bat of Giovanny Alfonzo brought home Krauss with the winning run.

Zac Treece (3-1) picked up the win after recording the final two outs in the ninth. Ronnie Shaban (0-1) took the loss, yielding two runs on two hits and two walks in two-thirds of an inning.
