First 1,500 fans will receive Lew Ford Bronze Figurines on May 1
(Central Islip, N.Y., Feb. 5, 2015) – Following the signing of outfielder/hitting coach Lew Ford on Monday, the three-time Atlantic League champion Long Island Ducks today unveiled their first promotional giveaway for the 2015 season. The first 1,500 fans in attendance on Opening Night at Bethpage Ballpark, Friday, May 1, will receive a Lew Ford Bronze Figurine, presented by P.C. Richard & Son.
“Lew put together one of the best seasons in Atlantic League history in 2014, and we are excited, along with our friends at P.C. Richard & Son, to recognize his efforts on Opening Night,” says Ducks president and general manager Michael Pfaff. “Before you know it, we will be opening up the gates, watching our fans fill the stands and throwing the first pitch of the 2015 season.”
This one-of-a-kind item will feature 2014 Atlantic League Player of the Year Lew Ford as he connects for another base hit. The figurine is completely bronzed and comes in a specially-designed collector’s box. Fans will be able to take home this exclusive piece courtesy of charter Ducks sponsor and Long Island (and America’s) #1 family-owned and operated appliance and electronics company, P.C. Richard & Son.
You won’t want to miss out on adding this piece of memorabilia to your collection! The giveaway is limited to the first 1,500 fans through the gates, so be sure to arrive at the ballpark early. Game time for the Ducks home opener against the Sugar Land Skeeters on May 1 is 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35. Prior to first pitch, in addition to traditional Opening Night pomp and circumstance, Lew Ford will receive his Atlantic League Player of the Year award in a special on-field ceremony.
