GAME AUDIO: James McOwen’s solo homer
The Ducks opened the scoring in the first with a RBI single to left by Ray Navarrete off Patriots starter Doug Arguello. Somerset answered in the third with a two-run single to left by Jonny Tucker off Ducks starter Randy Keisler, but a solo home run from James McOwen in the fourth, his fourth of the year, tied the game at two.
Both teams would be held scoreless until the bottom of the 13th inning when Freddie Bynum hit a walk-off RBI double to right for Somerset.
Neither starter would factor into the decision. Keisler went eight innings, allowing just two runs on five hits while striking out three, and Arguello tossed seven innings, yielding two runs on six hits with two strikeouts. Josh Rupe (2-4) got the win, firing four scoreless innings of relief, and Jason Monti (5-3) suffered the loss, allowing a run in one and two-thirds innings of relief.
