Star of Nick Jr. TV show to attend Opening Day of Ticket Sales
(Central Islip, N.Y., March 12, 2014) – Peppa Pig, the main character of the hit television program, “Peppa Pig” on Nick Jr., will be visiting Bethpage Ballpark for the Long Island Ducks “Opening Day of Ticket Sales” on Saturday, March 22. Fans will have the opportunity to say hello and pose for pictures with Peppa Pig, as well as Long Island’s Favorite Mascot, QuackerJack, throughout the festivities.
Emcees The Wiseman & Frank of B-103 will be leading the morning excitement beginning at 7:00 a.m., as the Ducks usher in their 15th Anniversary Season. In addition to Peppa Pig and QuackerJack, Ducks fans will be able to pose for pictures and receive autographs from Ducks coaches such as baseball legend Buddy Harrelson and manager Kevin Baez. In addition, the 2013 Atlantic League championship trophy will be on display for photo opportunities.
Season ticket holders will also be able to join in the festivities as the Ducks host the first-ever Season Ticket Holder Pick-up Party. The team will be introducing a brand new program on Saturday, March 22 that is exclusive for season ticket holders and will run all season long. “Meet the Flockers” will allow season ticket holders to be highlighted on the DuckVision video board throughout the 2014 campaign, as the organization thanks its most loyal fans for being a part of the ‘Faithful Flock.’ Those with season ticket packages can pick up their ticket books at the ballpark on “Opening Day of Ticket Sales” and have their picture taken to be displayed on DuckVision during the season. Ticket representatives will also be on hand to show fans interested in purchasing ticket packages some of the best available seats at the Duck Pond.
Centerplate, the official concessions partner of the Long Island Ducks, will provide complimentary snacks and beverages including coffee, hot chocolate and bagels for fans as they wait on line. Pepsi will have soft drinks available while Hebrew National will be serving up some of the best hot dogs in town. Those looking to quench their sweet tooth will be able to enjoy a delicious smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Café or a delectable frozen ice treat from Kona Ice.

Individual tickets for all 2014 Ducks games will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on March 22 at the Bethpage Ballpark box office, and fans are encouraged to arrive early. Bethpage Federal Credit Union will be giving away a $500 gift card for the first fan in line for tickets, and the Ducks will also hand out several prizes for the lucky first fan. The Waddle In Shop, the official merchandise store of the Ducks, will also be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Fans will be able to browse and purchase a wide selection of new Ducks apparel, including Back-to-Back Championship Logo and 15th Anniversary Logo pins.
