Bio

Shaw begins his first season with the Ducks and 19th in professional baseball. The right-hander spent 14 seasons in the Major Leagues, pitching with the Arizona Diamondbacks (2011-12), Cleveland Indians/Guardians (2013-17, 2021-22), Colorado Rockies (2018-19), Seattle Mariners (2020), Chicago White Sox (2023-24). In 796 MLB games (two starts), he posted a 43-46 record with a 3.96 ERA, 19 saves and 681 strikeouts to 299 walks in 764.1 innings. He led the American League in appearances four times with Cleveland (2014, ’16, ’17 and ’21). The California native also pitched in 19 big league playoff games, going 2-1 with a 2.45 ERA and helping Cleveland win the 2016 American League championship. The 38-year-old was originally selected by the Diamondbacks in the second round of the 2008 amateur draft from California State University, Long Beach.
