Woodward begins his first season with the Ducks, third in the Atlantic League and sixth in professional baseball. The left-hander spent one season with the York Revolution (2023) and one season with the Staten Island FerryHawks (2024), combining to go 1-4 with a 3.74 ERA and nine saves across 83 games and one game start, striking out 73 in 89.2 innings pitched. 

The 27-year-old native of Red Bank, NJ played three collegiate seasons (2018-2020) at Lafayette College (Easton, Pa.), going 7-9 with a 5.71 ERA, three saves and three complete games over 33 games and 17 game starts, striking out 77 in 74.1 innings of work. He was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies as an amateur free agent on June 16, 2020, after three seasons at Lafayette. The southpaw pitched two seasons (2021-22) in the Phillies organization, going 5-4 with a 4.96 ERA and one save in 60 games; and two seasons (2025-26) in Mexico, going 0-0 with a 6.30 ERA and one save in 27 games pitched.
