Asa begins his first season with the Ducks and second in professional baseball. The right-hander made two appearances with the Idaho Falls Chukars of the Pioner League back in 2002.  The Springfield, Oregon native pitched collegiately in his home state at Corban University in Salem for three seasons (2019-21), going 2-3 with a 3.79 ERA across 33 games, tallying 71.1 innings pitched on 69 hits allowed, walking 30 and striking out 63 to go along with eight saves. Asa took part in the Ducks Open Player Tryout on April 12th and was invited to the team’s spring training before making the Opening Night Roster.
