Sandberg begins his second season with the Ducks and fourth season in professional baseball. The right-hander made 19 appearances (18 starts) with Long Island in 2025, posting a 6-5 record with a 3.83 ERA and 73 strikeouts to 44 walks in 91.2 innings of work. He turned in six quality starts and allowed three runs or fewer in 15 starts, including each of his final nine starts of the season. The 27-year-old recorded a 10-strikeout performance on July 5 at Hagerstown and a nine-strikeout game on September 11 vs. Lexington.
Prior to joining the Flock, the Island Park, N.Y., native helped the Capitales de Québec win back-to-back Frontier League championships in 2024 and 2025. In 40 games (30 starts), he compiled a 9-10 record with a 3.25 ERA and 169 strikeouts to 57 walks over 171.2 innings. He joined two pitchers in throwing a combined no-hitter for the club on May 18, 2024. Before turning pro, the West Hempstead High School alum played two seasons apiece of collegiate baseball at Florida Atlantic University and Wilmington University, and he pitched in 13 games with the Trenton Thunder of the MLB Draft League in 2022.
