(Farmingdale, N.Y., Oct. 4, 2025) – Long Island Ducks mascot visited Farmingdale on Saturday to take part in the South Farmingdale Fire Department’s annual Fire Prevention Open House.

QJ hung out with an ATF K-9 dog named Pilot, who sniffs out accelerants used to commit, or attempt to commit, a crime of arson. He also made friends with Sparky, the mascot dog, and firefighter mascot Charlie. QuackerJack learned a lot about fire safety, including how to put out kitchen fires, how to change out the batteries on smoke detectors and how to test them to make sure they are working properly.

The Long Island Ducks are entering their 26th season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Fairfield Properties Ballpark in Central Islip, N.Y. They are the all-time leader in wins and attendance in Atlantic League history, have led all MLB Partner Leagues in total attendance for five consecutive seasons, and have sold out a record 721 games all-time.
