Long Islanders ring in holiday season

(Flanders, N.Y., Nov. 28, 2012) – Long Island Ducks mascot, QuackerJack, and the Ducks Street Team powered by National Grid headed East on Wednesday night to join in the annual lighting of the famous Big Duck in Flanders. QJ joined families from all over Long Island for the yearly celebration.

While there, QuackerJack helped spread holiday cheer to all of those in attendance, joining in singing carols with a local school group and welcoming Santa Claus, who arrived with the Flanders Fire Department. QuackerJack also posed for pictures with fans of all ages (including dogs), signed autographs and even got to sit on Santa’s lap.

QJ, along with Santa Claus and Ducks coaches, will be at Bethpage Ballpark on Saturday, December 1 when the Ducks kick off the holiday season by re-opening the Waddle In Shop and beginning their annual toy drive at 10:00 a.m. For more information, CLICK HERE.
