(Lindenhurst, N.Y., Aug. 9, 2023) – QuackerJack and Long Island Ducks Manager Wally Backman joined the Suffolk County School Bus Youth Safety Education Program in announcing $150,000 in sponsorships to 50 Little Leagues in support of children’s safety.

At a press conference, QJ and Wally joined Suffolk County Presiding Officer Kevin McCaffrey in presenting a $2,500 check to the Lindenhurst National Little League. In return for the sponsorship, the team will educate residents about school bus safety through physical banners and social media posts reminding residents to “play it safe”. 

The sponsorships are part of a wider public service awareness campaign, spanning broadcast, print, and digital advertisements from May to October. The County will invest a total of $1 million towards school bus safety awareness as part of the effort.

The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, a Professional Partner League of Major League Baseball.
