Ducks street team joins 2,800 children from Long Island

(Westbury, N.Y., Oct. 3, 2013) – On Thursday, October 3, QuackerJack visited the NYCB Theatre in Westbury to take part in the second annual Long Island Cares Concert for Children’s Hunger Awareness.

2,800 children in Grades 1-4 from around Long Island attended the concert, and when QuackerJack entered the stage, every single one was on their feet and screaming for joy. Classes from 17 Long Island schools attended the event and learned about hunger and children’s nutrition prior to the show based upon a special study guide prepared by Tom Chapin. The children also received special concert t-shirts, brought donations of “kid friendly” food to the concert and received commemorative wristbands and fresh fruit at the end of the performance.

QuackerJack and the Ducks Street Team, powered by National Grid, will attend the upcoming events listed below throughout the remainder of October. Be sure to stop by, congratulate the Ducks on winning back-to-back Atlantic League championships!
