QJ presented with award by Brooklyn Nets G-League affiliate
 

(Central Islip, N.Y., Jan. 16, 2020) – The QuackerJack Foundation, the charitable arm of the Long Island Ducks, was honored on Wednesday by the Long Island Nets as the Community Hero of the Game.

Ducks mascot, QuackerJack, was presented with an award by team members, including Nets mascot, Dale, during the second quarter of the Nets game against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. The honor was given as part of the Long Island Nets Town of Islip Night, with Islip Town Supervisor and Ducks fan Angie Carpenter addressing the crowd during the game.

QuackerJack entertained the crowd at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum throughout the game, joining Dale and the Nets Hype Team. The lovable mascot took part in multiple T-Shirt Tosses, danced and took photos with several fans, and played basketball in the Nets Kids Zone.

The QuackerJack Foundation enables the Ducks to expand their outreach and better serve many non-profit organizations within the community. Each year, the foundation makes donations to over 900 charitable organizations across Long Island. The Ducks host various awareness nights during the season in which the foundation helps benefit many organizations and coalitions. QuackerJack is heavily involved in the community through visits to local hospitals, schools, and various events throughout the year, and he has been voted by local residents as the Best Long Island Mascot for 10 consecutive years in the Long Island Press’s “Best of Long Island” awards.
