(Flanders, N.Y., Dec. 1, 2021) – Long Island Ducks mascot, QuackerJack, traveled east to Flanders on Wednesday night to attend the annual Big Duck lighting for the holiday season.
The annual tradition, celebrating its 33rd year after it was canceled in 2020, saw hundreds of families flock to the Big Duck, which is celebrating its 90th birthday this year. All of the fun got underway at about 7:00 p.m., with carolers from the Riverhead Middle School Show Choir singing about the duck.
In addition to Long Island’s favorite mascot, Lew Ford, the Ducks all-time hits leader, was also in attendance. Santa Claus joined the party as well, arriving to the Big Duck by fire truck to ring in the holiday season. To watch a report from News 12 Long Island about the event, please CLICK HERE.
