QJ congratulates kids for learning to practice stranger safety

(Holtsville, N.Y., June 11, 2012) –
On Monday, Long Island Ducks mascot, QuackerJack, took part in helping raise awareness in educating and empowering young minds with the knowledge necessary to avoid abduction. The event provided children with safety and awareness when it comes to dealing with strangers. QJ was joined by Islanders mascot, Sparky, and school mascot, Sharky.

Tamarac Elementary School teamed up with the Rose Brucia Foundation to educate children with a scavenger hunt throughout the school followed by a 15-minute video teaching children about strangers and what to do if approached by one. After the children received their certificate for completing the course, QJ stood outside to congratulate and take pictures with all the participants.

The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, call (631) 940-DUCK or visit www.liducks.com.
