(Flanders, N.Y., Nov. 29, 2023) – Beloved Long Island Ducks Mascot, QuackerJack, made a guest appearance to take pictures and help spread holiday cheer on Wednesday at the annual Flanders Big Duck Lighting.
The Big Duck Lighting, now in its 35th year, hosted hundreds of families from across Long Island for a night of bright lights, duck-themed carols and even a visit from Santa.
The festivities kicked off at 7:00 p.m., where those in attendance were first welcomed with duck puns and jokes from Town of Southampton Supervisor, Jay Schneiderman, before the Riverhead Middle School Show Choir took the stage for a holiday cheer-filled performance. Finally, the 20-foot tall duck was lit up, as Santa stopped by to hear everyones holiday wishes.
Quacker Jack will continue his holiday season tour this week after last week’s stops took him to Sayville and Patchogue for their Holiday Parades. His next stops are as follows:
Saturday, December 2 (4:30 p.m.) – Islip Holiday Parade
Sunday, December 10 (10:00 a.m.) – Waddle In Shop Holiday Store Opening
