Ducks Street Team promotes Parents As Reading Partners

(St. James, N.Y., Mar. 18, 2013) – On Monday, QuackerJack and the Ducks Street Team, powered by National Grid, traveled to St. James Elementary School to promote Parents As Reading Partners (PARP). PARP encourages parents to read with their children to improve the child’s reading skills and strengthen the parent-child relationship.

QJ began the day by greeting the children as they got off the school bus and gave many high fives as the students entered the school. The lovable mascot then visited classrooms to advocate reading and gave prizes to students who said they read over the weekend. The students charted how many minutes they read and documented it on a chart to display the progress of their reading.

QuackerJack and the Ducks Street Team, powered by National Grid, will be in attendance at the upcoming events listed below throughout the month of March. Be sure to stop by, congratulate the Ducks on winning the 2012 Atlantic League Championship and get excited for the 2013 season!
