Long Island and York to play rubber game of series on Sunday
(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 27, 2016) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the York Revolution 13-0 on Saturday night in the middle game of a three-game series at Bethpage Ballpark. A past-capacity crowd of 7,341 fans attended the game, accounting for Long Island’s 11th sold out crowd of the year and 661st all-time, an Atlantic League record.

York was led offensively by Michael Rockett, who finished with three hits and a walk. The left fielder drove in three runs and scored three times as well. He was one of three Revolution batters to homer on the night, joining Bryan Pounds and Joel Guzman with two-run blasts. Guzman finished with three hits and four RBI overall for York. Josh Wilson had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored, while Isaias Tejeda chipped in with two hits, an RBI and a run.
Fehlandt Lentini led the Flock offensively with a pair of doubles, increasing his season total to 33, which is tied for the Atlantic League lead. Tyler Colvin also added two singles and drew a walk. He has now reached base safely in seven of his last nine games, earning hits in six of them and multiple hits in four.
Owings (6-4) earned the win with six shutout inning, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out 10. Jackson Jr. (0-3) took the loss, giving up eight runs on six hits and four walks with three strikeouts over four innings.
The Ducks and Revolution wrap up their three-game set on Sunday evening. Game time is slated for 5:05 p.m. with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 4:05 (3:50 for full season ticket holders). It’s the Third Annual Jewish Heritage Night at the ballpark, and the first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive L’Chaim Stadium Cups, courtesy of the Chabad of Islip. In addition, it’s a Sunday Family Funday! Prior to the game, fans will be invited onto the field for an autograph session with the Ducks from 4:20 to 4:35. After the game, kids and kids at heart can take part in Kids Run the Bases, presented by Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Right-hander Bobby Blevins toes the rubber for the Ducks against Revolution southpaw Frank Gailey.
