(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 12, 2026) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the York Revolution 5-2 on Wednesday night in the second game of a six-game series at Fairfield Properties Ballpark.
The Ducks took an immediate 1-0 lead in the bottom half of the first inning on Jacob Robson’s 428-foot leadoff solo home run to straightaway center field off Revolution starting pitcher Nick Mikolajchak. York scored three times in the second versus Long Island starter Michael Dominguez for a 3-1 advantage on Tomo Otasaka’s sacrifice fly and Devonte Brown’s two-run double. The Flock got to within 3-2 in the bottom of the frame thanks to an Anthony Garcia run-scoring base hit.
The visitors opened up a 4-2 cushion in the fifth on Brown’s RBI base hit. York added an insurance run in the eighth on Shed Long Jr.’s two-out run-scoring base knock. Long Island threatened in the last of the ninth bringing the tying-run to the plate in pinch-hitter Jorge Bonifacio, but Ryan Shreve retired Bonifacio on a fly ball to Otasaka in center to notch his second save of the campaign.
Mikolajchak (4-1) picked up the victory, allowing two runs on six hits in five and two-thirds innings pitched, walking two while striking out three. Dominguez (5-3) suffered the loss, surrendering four runs on four hits across five innings of work, walking and striking out three.
Robson was a triple away from the cycle as the outfielder tallied an infield single, a double and a home run while and also scored twice.
