York took an early 1-0 lead on Andres Perez’s solo home run to left in the first off Ducks starter Nick DeBarr. Long Island answered in the bottom of the frame when Bryant Nelson doubled and scored on a wild pitch from Revolution starter Nick Green. Long Island took the lead in the second on RBI singles by Ralph Henriquez and Joash Brodin. However, a sac fly by Andy Marte and a two-run double from Chad Tracy put the Revs back on top 4-3.

A run in the fourth and four more in the fifth for the Revolution increased the lead to six. Ruddy Yan’s RBI single and a grand slam to right by Matt Spencer did the damage. Long Island battled back to within two courtesy of a four-run seventh inning. Brodin’s RBI double and Bill Hall’s three-run homer highlighted the scoring, but the Ducks could not pull even.

Green (4-5) picked up the win despite allowing seven runs on 11 hits while striking out six in seven innings. DeBarr (2-8) suffered the loss, surrendering five runs on four hits and four walks in three and one-third innings.

Nelson led the Ducks with four hits while Brodin and Adam Bailey each added two.
