York got on the scoreboard first on Travis Garcia’s two-run home run to left in the second inning off Ducks starter John Brownell. Two more runs in the third on a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly to right off the bat of Wilson Valdez extended the lead to 4-0.

Long Island grabbed their lone run of the game in the fifth on a solo homer to right by Adam Bailey off Revolution starter Alain Quijano. However, single runs in the seven and ninth for the Revs put the game out of reach.

Quijano (1-0) earned the win, tossing six innings, allowing one run on two hits while striking out three. Brownell (0-1) suffered the loss, yielding four runs on six hits with five strikeouts in six innings.

Bailey led the Flock with two hits, while Joash Brodin added a single in the ninth.

Duck Tales: Adam Bailey’s solo home run in the fifth inning was his first of the 2014 season. Last season, the outfielder finished second on the Ducks with 15 home runs, trailing only Bill Hall (16). Long Island has now gone deep in three consecutive games after not hitting a homer in their first three games of the season…The Ducks bullpen allowed two runs in three innings of work in Friday’s game. Through the first six games of the year, Ducks relievers have now given up just three runs in 25 and one third innings. That’s good for a 1.07 ERA… Friday’s crowd of 5,509 increases Long Island’s all-time attendance at Bethpage Ballpark to 5,946,627, an Atlantic League record. That leaves the Ducks just 53,373 fans shy of reaching the magical 6 million fan mark.
