Long Island opened the scored in the third on a throwing error that scored Mike Blanke and a double play ball that plated Anthony Vega. York responded with two in the fourth to tie the game on RBI singles by Michael Burgess and Josh Wilson off Ducks starter John Brownell.
Three more runs in the fifth gave the Revolution a 5-2 lead. Andres Perez’s RBI single and a two-out, two-run single by Bryan Pounds did the damage. The Ducks closed to within 5-4 in the fifth on Tyler Colvin’s solo homer to right and Delta Cleary Jr.’s RBI single off Revolution starter Ty’Relle Harris.
However, a three-run seventh pushed York’s lead to 8-4. Burgess’ RBI groundout, Pounds’ RBI double and a bases loaded walk to Jared Mitchell accounted for the scoring.
Harris (5-6) picked up the win with five innings of work, yielding four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four. Brownell (9-8) took the loss, giving up five runs on seven hits and four walks in four and two-thirds innings with five strikeouts.
Colvin and Ruben Gotay each had two hits to pace the Ducks.
