Neither side plated a run until the bottom of the fifth inning when Long Island scored twice off Bluefish starter David Kubiak. An RBI single by Delta Cleary Jr. and a throwing error that scored Fehlandt Lentini gave the Ducks a 2-0 lead.

Bridgeport closed to within one in the sixth on an RBI single by Welington Dotel. However, the Ducks put the game out of reach in the seventh on Cody Puckett’s three-run double to left-center field.

Ducks reliever Kevin Vance (3-1) collected the win, pitching two innings of relief and allowing a run on four hits with one strikeout. Kubiak (3-2) suffered the loss, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out six. Ducks starter Dustin Richardson did not factor into the decision but tossed four scoreless innings, yielding just one hit and one walk while striking out four.

Lentini, Cleary Jr. and Mark Minicozzi each had two hits to lead the Ducks.
