(High Point, N.C., May 22, 2026) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the High Point Rockers 4-3 on Friday evening in the fourth game of a six-game series at Truist Point.
Long Island took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the first inning against High Point starting pitcher Matt Solter as Chris Roler scored from third base on a double play ball. The Rockers tied the game at one in the bottom of the frame versus Ducks starter Nolan Clenney when Patrick Sanchez crossed the plate on a throwing error. High Point took a 2-1 advantage in the third on Aidan Brewer’s leadoff solo home run to left field. The Flock evened up the ballgame at two apiece in the fourth thanks to an Aaron Takacs run-scoring base hit.
Long Island made it 3-2 in their favor fifth by way of a Ronaldo Hernandez RBI single. The Rockers tied the contest at three one half-inning later thanks to Brewer’s second leadoff round-tripper of the night, a solo shot to the opposite-field in right. Anthony Garcia’s run-scoring double in the sixth put the visitors ahead one final time at 4-3, as the bullpen trio of Scott Alexander, Sal Romano and Ramon Santos silenced the High Point offense in the late innings, firing three scoreless frames on just two hits allowed and seven strikeouts, with Santos striking out the side in the ninth for his team-leading fifth save of the season.
Clenney (2-3) picked up the victory after allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits in six innings pitched, walking two and striking out eight, notching his first quality start in 2026. Solter (1-5) suffered the loss, giving up four runs on nine hits over six innings of work, walking three and striking out two.
Gavin Collins had a pair of hits and a run scored, while Hernandez and Takacs each tallied two hits and an RBI.
