Blevins receives no-decision in fourth-straight quality start
(Central Islip, N.Y., July 24, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Camden Riversharks 4-3 Thursday afternoon at Campbell’s Field in the opener of a three-game series.

Camden grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a RBI single from Jose Julio-Ruiz off Ducks starting pitcher Bobby Blevins. Long Island evened the ballgame in the top of the third on a sacrifice fly from Fehlandt Lentini off Camden starter Greg Miller.
The Ducks took the lead in the top of the sixth inning on an Adam Bailey solo home run. The Flock then added a run in the top of the seventh on a RBI single from Brendan Harris. The Riversharks trimmed the deficit to one in the bottom of the eighth with a Brian Van Kirk RBI single.
Camden scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the ballgame. A Paddy Matera RBI single tied the game at three before a Jose Morales RBI single put the Riversharks in front for good.
Neither starting pitcher factored into the decision. Blevins allowed two runs on seven hits while striking out four over seven and two-thirds innings of work. Miller yielded three runs (two earned) over six and two-thirds innings on six hits and one walk with two strikeouts. Cole Kimball (1-0) earned the win with a scoreless inning of relief. Jon Meloan (0-3) suffered the loss, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk in one-third of an inning.
Six different Ducks batters had hits in the ballgame, while Jon Myers reached base three times.
The Ducks continue their three-game series with the Camden Riversharks Friday night. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. from Campbell’s Field. Right-hander Jared Lansford takes the mound for the Ducks against Riversharks southpaw Pedro Liriano. Long Island returns home on Saturday, August 2 to open a three-game series against the York Revolution. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05.
