Ray Navarrete gave the Ducks a 2-0 lead in the first on a two-run homer to left-center field off Skeeters starter Ryan McKeller. Sugar Land responded with four runs in the fourth off Ducks starter Adam Rowe to take the lead. RBI doubles by Steve Moss and Manny Mejia along with a two-run double off the bat of Iggy Suarez did the damage.

After the Skeeters added another run in the fifth, a two-out RBI double for Shawn Williams cut the deficit to 5-3. However, a two-run double by Aaron Bates in the sixth inning put the game out of reach.

McKeller did not factor in the decision but allowed three runs on four hits in four and two-thirds innings. Pedro Liriano (7-3) got the win with two and one-third innings of scoreless relief, while Rowe (0-1) suffered the loss, yielding five runs on eight hits in four and two-thirds innings. Roberto Giron collected his first save after recording the final out.

Joash Brodin led the Flock with two hits.

Following an off day on Thursday, the Ducks open up a three-game series against the York Revolution on Friday night. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Foam Fingers, courtesy of St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.
