Neither side was able to push across a run until Sugar Land took a 1-0 lead in the eighth inning on a RBI single from Delwyn Young off Ducks starter Bobby Blevins. The Skeeters added to their lead in the ninth on a single from Dominic Ramos and a run-scoring error on the same play.

Long Island rallied back to tie the ballgame in the bottom of the ninth inning on a two-run single from Brandon Bantz off Skeeters closer Gary Majewski. However, the Skeeters took the lead back for good on a two-out, two-run single from Adam Godwin and a run-scoring wild pitch in the top of the 11th inning.

Neither starting pitcher factored into the decision. Blevins yielded one run on six hits and two walks with one strikeout over eight innings. Adam Bailey and Bantz paced the Ducks with two hits apiece.
