Long Island opened the scoring with two runs in the second inning off Patriots starter Erik Arnesen. Adam Bailey laced a RBI double to right, and Ramon Castro knocked a RBI single to left to do the damage. Castro drove in another run with a sac fly to right-center in the fourth.

The Patriots cut into the lead with solo home runs to right by Cory Aldridge in the fourth and sixth against Ducks starter Bob Zimmermann. Long Island pushed their advantage back to two on a Josh Barfield two-out RBI single in the seventh, but Adam Donachie brought the Patriots back within one on a solo homer to left in the bottom of the frame.

Yunesky Sanchez tied the game at four with a solo home run to left leading off the eighth inning. It remained even until Aldridge hit a walk-off home run to right in the tenth inning.

Neither starter factored in the decision. Zimmermann threw five and one-third innings, giving up two runs on four hits, and Arnesen allowed four runs on ten hits in seven innings. Jon Hunton (1-0) picked up the win, allowing just one hit and one walk in two innings. Erick Threets (0-1) took the loss, surrendering the winning homer in two-thirds of an inning.

Lew Ford led the Flock with three hits, and Castro drove in two runs.

The Ducks and Patriots continue the Atlantic League Championship Series on Saturday night with Game Four. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. from TD Bank Ballpark. Right-hander Bobby Blevins gets the call for Long Island against Somerset southpaw Graham Taylor.
