The Bluefish jumped out to an early lead in game one with a run in the first inning off Ducks starter Dontrelle Willis. Daniel Mayora doubled to lead off the game, and Prentice Redman followed two batters later with a RBI single.
That was enough for Bridgeport starter Hunter Jones (3-6) to earn the win, tossing all seven innings, allowing just five hits while striking out four. Willis (4-3) suffered the hard luck loss despite tossing the complete seven innings, yielding just one run on seven hits with five strikeouts.
Joash Brodin put the Ducks on top in game two with a leadoff solo homer to right in the bottom of the first against Bluefish starter Mike Parisi. Two-out RBI singles in the second by Dan Lyons and Brodin increased the lead to three. It stayed that way until the seventh when the Bluefish scored a run on a sacrifice fly to center by James Simmons but nothing more.
Ducks starter John Brownell (5-5) cruised to a complete game victory, allowing a run on six hits and a walk while striking out six in seven innings. Parisi (1-10) took the loss, surrendering three runs on nine hits and five walks with four strikeouts in five innings.
Brodin led the Flock with five hits and two RBI combined in the twinbill.
