Lancaster takes series from Long Island
(Lancaster, Pa., June 16, 2013) – The Long Island Ducks lost to the Lancaster Barnstormers 6-4 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

Lancaster struck for five runs in the fourth inning on a Blake Gailen RBI single, a two-run Travis Denker double to left field, Kevin Howard’s sacrifice fly to right, and an error. Ben Broussard put the Ducks on the scoreboard with a two-run home run to right field in the sixth inning.
The Barnstormers answered in the bottom of the sixth when Jerry Owens drove in a run with a single. Long Island scored two in the eighth when Josh Barfield singled in a run and Broussard drove in a run on a groundout, but that would do it for the Ducks.
Starter Horacio Ramirez (4-1) picked up the win for Lancaster, giving up two runs on five hits in seven innings. Ducks starter Matt Way (2-4) took the loss, letting up four runs on three hits in three and one-third innings. Jason Urquidez pitched a scoreless ninth to record his 11th save.
P.J. Phillips and Barfield had two hits for the Ducks, while Broussard drove in three runs.
The Ducks open a four-game series against the Camden Riversharks at Campbell’s Field Monday night. First pitch is 7:05. The Ducks return to Bethpage Ballpark on Friday, June 21 to open a three-game weekend set with the Sugar Land Skeeters.
