(Lancaster, Pa., Aug. 20, 2026) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Lancaster Stormers 6-5 on Thursday night in the third game of a six-game series at Penn Medicine Park.
The Ducks took a 1-0 lead four batters into the contest thanks to an RBI single produced by Anthony Garcia off Stormers starting pitcher Noah Bremer. Lancaster made it 3-1 in their favor in the second on David Smith’s RBI single, Joseph Carpenter’s run-scoring double and Adam Hackenberg’s RBI groundout versus Long Island starter Rio Gomez.
The Flock cut the deficit to 3-2 in the fourth on Aaron Antonini’s RBI base hit. Lancaster extended their advantage to 4-2 in the fifth by way of an Aaron Schunk sacrifice fly. The Ducks again got to within a run at 4-3 in the sixth on a Jorge Bonifacio RBI groundout, but the Stormers plated two runs in the bottom of the frame for a 6-3 cushion courtesy of a Hackenberg run-scoring base knock and Corey Rosier sacrifice fly. A Gavin Collins 381-foot two-run home run off the foul pole in left got the visitors to within a run at 6-5 in the seventh, but Long Island would get no closer as Lenny Torres retired the side in order in the ninth with a pair of strikeouts and a fly out which secured the one-run victory for the home team.
Bremer (8-5) picked up the win after giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits in five innings pitched, walking four and striking out six. Gomez (1-2) was tagged with the loss, surrendering four runs on six hits in five innings on the mound, walking two while striking out five.
Collins had two hits, two RBIs and a pair of runs scored, and Antonini also contributed two hits, an RBI and a stolen base.
