(Lancaster, Penn., Aug. 26, 2012) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Lancaster Barnstormers 13-3 on Sunday night in the final game of a three-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

Lancaster took a 3-0 lead in the first inning on Blake Gailen’s three-run homer to right off Ducks starter Bob Zimmermann. The Ducks answered with two runs in the second off Barnstormers starter Dwayne Pollok on Shawn Williams’ run-scoring groundout and Brandon Pinckney’s RBI single.

The ‘Stormers got a run back in the third on a sac fly to left by Fehlandt Lentini, stretching the lead to 4-2. A pair of four-run innings in the sixth and seventh for Lancaster put the game out of reach. Adam Godwin’s three-run triple, a RBI single by Ryan Harvey and bases loaded walks to Kody Kirkland and Kyle Haines highlighted the damage.

Pollok (12-2) got the win, tossing seven innings, allowing two unearned runs on seven hits while striking out six. Zimmermann (5-9) took the loss, surrendering eight runs on 10 hits in six innings of work.
