Garceau earns league-leading eighth win
(York, Penn., June 26, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the York Revolution 4-3 on Thursday night at Santander Stadium in the first of a four-game series.

York grabbed an early lead in the bottom of the first inning on a RBI double from Wilson Valdez and a RBI groundout from Chad Tracy off Ducks starter Shaun Garceau. The Ducks cut the deficit in half in the top of the second with a solo home run from Brendan Harris off Revolution starter Jorge Martinez.
The score remained 2-1 until Long Island plated three runs in the top of the sixth to take a 4-2 lead. A RBI double from Randy Ruiz tied the game at two before a two-out, two-run double from Joash Brodin gave the Flock the lead. After a 30-minute rain delay, a pinch-hit RBI single from Travis Garcia in the bottom of the sixth brought the Revolution within a run, but York would get no closer.
Shaun Garceau (8-1) earned the win, yielding three runs on six hits, four walks and three strikeouts in five and two-thirds innings. Jorge Martinez (3-2) received the loss after allowing four runs (one earned) on four hits with three walks in five and one-third innings of work. Jon Meloan earned his eighth save of the year with a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning.
Fehlandt Lentini led the Ducks bats with three hits, while Brodin pitched in with two runs batted in.
The Ducks and Revolution will continue their series Friday night at Santander Stadium. Ducks starter Jared Lansford will face-off against York southpaw Alain Quijano. Long Island returns home on Monday, June 30 for a single admission doubleheader against the Bridgeport Bluefish.
