Fans enjoy fun-filled day; seats still available
(Central Islip, N.Y., Mar. 24, 2012) – Under a sunny sky and mild temperatures, hundreds of Ducks fans flocked to Bethpage Ballpark on Saturday for the annual Opening Day of individual ticket sales. Thousands more clogged phone and internet lines when tickets became available electronically at 2:00 p.m. Overall, thousands of tickets were purchased by loyal Ducks fans eagerly awaiting the start of the team’s 13th season on Long Island.

“We are excited to have begun a brand new season today,” says Ducks president/general manager Michael Pfaff. “Every year our fans remind us why they are the best in baseball, and we share their excitement for the upcoming season.”
Fans standing in line on Saturday morning were treated to a carnival-like atmosphere at Bethpage Ballpark, emceed by The Wiseman and Frank from B-103, which included various activities from Send in the Clowns Entertainment, prizes and giveaways from Bethpage Federal Credit Union and Monster Mini Golf, complimentary refreshments courtesy of Centerplate, Herr’s, Pepsi, and Tropical Smoothie Café, and much more. Ducks’ mascot QuackerJack was on hand for pictures and autographs along with members of the 2012 Ducks, including coach Bud Harrelson, manager Kevin Baez, outfielder Reid Gorecki, and pitcher Joe Esposito. Guest stars Mario and Luigi also joined in the fun, courtesy of Play-N-Trade Video Games.
The first fans in line, 12-year old Ryan Kamer and his father Charlie, were awarded with a chair, umbrella, and grill set, courtesy of Pepsi, a $500 gift card courtesy of Bethpage Federal Credit Union, and the opportunity to be “Manager for a Day” during Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, September 16 when the Ducks battle the Camden Riversharks. Additionally, the Kamers were joined by the “first kid in line,” 10-year-old Patrick Czark, who received an autographed game model Ducks bat after lining up behind the Kamers at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Despite the tremendous turnout at the box office and overall success of the day, plenty of great tickets for 2012 Ducks games are still available. Fans can purchase individual game tickets by visiting the Bethpage Ballpark box office Monday throughy Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased by calling the Ducks ticket office at (631) 940-TIXX during those same hours or by CLICKING HERE.
Once again, the Ducks have kept ticket prices the same for this season, offering the most affordable ticket prices of any local sports franchise. Prices range from $11.00 (box seats) to $12.00 (field box seats) per seat.
