GAME VIDEO: Highlights from the game in York
Neither side crossed home plate until the top of the fifth inning, as Ducks starter Zac Treece faced the minimum 12 batters over the first four innings. Giovanny Alfonzo singled off Revolution starter Victor Mateo in the fith, stole second base and came home on a fielder’s choice grounder by Marc Krauss coupled with a throwing error.
York tied the game at one in the bottom of the frame when Rubi Silva hit a first-pitch solo home run to left-center field off Ducks starter Zac Treece. One inning later, Ryan Dent doubled, moved to third on a groundout and scored on an RBI single to left by Alonzo Harris to put the Revolution in front.
Mateo did not factor into the decision but allowed one unearned run on two hits and five walks in five innings while striking out five. Joe Van Meter (3-2) collected the win after pitching a scoreless sixth inning, yielding a walk and a strikeout. Treece (6-2) suffered the hard luck loss, giving up just two runs on five hits over five and one-third innings while striking out six. Chase Huchingson picked up his fifth save with a scoreless ninth.
Alfonzo led the Flock at the plate with two hits.
The Ducks continue their final road trip of the regular season on Tuesday when they open up a three-game series against the Lancaster Barnstormers. Game time is slated for 6:30 p.m. from Clipper Magazine Stadium. Fans can follow all the action on the Long Island Ducks Broadcast Network.
