The Long Island Ducks today announced 10-year Major League veteran Trevor Bauer is scheduled to be the starting pitcher on Sunday, May 17.

The right-hander is slated to take the mound at Fairfield Properties Ballpark against the Gastonia Ghost Peppers. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m., with the ballpark gates opening at 12:35 (12:20 for full season ticket holders).

Additionally, the Ducks have announced a Trevor Bauer Poster giveaway prior to the 6:35 p.m. game on Friday, May 15. The 18” x 24” poster – which features the former National League Cy Young Award winner doing his trademark “sword” celebration – will be handed out to the first 2,000 fans in attendance at the game. The ballpark gates will open early at 5:15 p.m. Bauer will be signing autographs in the picnic area down the left field line for a very limited time once gates open.

The former National League Cy Young Award winner currently leads the Atlantic League in ERA (1.41), wins (4), strikeouts (49), innings pitched (32.0) and WHIP (0.81). He most recently set a franchise single-game record with 15 strikeouts on Tuesday night vs. Gastonia. Additionally, he became the third pitcher in Ducks history to throw a no-hitter back on April 26 in game one of a doubleheader at Lancaster. Bauer has won four consecutive starts, has turned in a quality start in all four, and has a 0.45 ERA with 41 strikeouts to two walks in 28.0 innings during that span.
