Bluefish overcome early deficit to salvage series split with Flock
(Bridgeport, Conn., June 4, 2017) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Bridgeport Bluefish 6-1 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a four-game series at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

Long Island opened the scoring in the top of the second inning on an RBI single to left field off of Bluefish starter Chris Rearick. Bridgeport took the lead with a pair of two-out runs off of Ducks starter Matt Larkins in the fourth on an RBI double by Jonathan Galvez and an RBI single by Tony Abreu.
A run-scoring fielder’s choice off the bat of Abreu in the sixth and a two-out, three-run home run to left field by Jose Cuevas increased the Bluefish lead to 6-1.
Rearick (4-1) earned the win, pitching six innings and allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out seven. Larkins (0-5) took the loss, yielding three runs on six hits in six innings with a season-high seven strikeouts.
Following a day off on Monday, the Ducks will continue their road trip on Tuesday when they open a three-game set against the New Britain Bees. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m. from New Britain Stadium. Fans can follow all the action online on the Long Island Ducks Broadcast Network. Long Island returns home on Friday, June 9 to begin a three-game set with the Bluefish. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders). The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Ducks T-Shirts, courtesy of Petro Home Services. It’s also a Fowl Pole Friday at the Duck Pond, and if a select Ducks player hits a home run off of one of the foul poles during the game, one lucky fan will win $50,000. In addition, a Bluefish player will be selected as the Pizza Hut K-Man of the game.
