Ryan Garko got the Ducks started with a two-run homer to right in the first off York starter Chris Cody. Dan Lyons added a RBI single to left in the second to score Reid Gorecki and increase the lead to three.

Both teams traded runs in the fourth, as Chris Nowak hit a sac fly to center off Bob Zimmermann and Lew Ford scurried home on a passed ball. A RBI single by Andres Perez in the sixth cut the deficit back to two, but it that was all the Revs could muster.

Zimmermann (2-0) earned the win, tossing six innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits with five strikeouts. Cody (0-3) took the loss, yielding four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks.

Garko got the offense rolling again in game two with a RBI single to left in the first off Revs’ starter Omar Javier. Ford added a RBI fielder’s choice in the opening frame. Three more runs came across in the second, with two scoring on an error and another on Brandon Sing’s sac fly to center to increase the lead to 5-0.

York got three runs back in the third when Michael Hernandez hit a three-run homer to center. However, Long Island answered with four runs in their half of the inning and added seven in the fifth to put the game out of reach. The Ducks batted around in both innings, sending nine men to the plate in the third and 12 in the fifth.

Wynn Pelzer (1-0) got the win in relief with a scoreless inning of work. Javier (0-2) suffered the loss, surrendering eight runs (seven earned) in two innings of work.
