(York, Penn., Sept. 2, 2012) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the York Revolution 7-4 in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon in the final game of a three-game series at Sovereign Bank Stadium.

The Ducks grabbed their first lead of the series in the opening inning when Brandon Sing beat out an infield single off Revs starter Chris Waters and Ray Navarrete scored on a throwing error. The Revolution responded with two in the bottom of the frame off Ducks starter Chris Hayes on a two-run single to left-center by Jeff Fiorentino.

York would add two more on a two-run homer by Andres Perez in the third, but Long Island answered with two of their own in the fourth on Joash Brodin’s run-scoring groundout and Brandon Pinckney’s RBI single. Sing tied the game at four with a RBI fielder’s choice in the fifth.

It would stay that way until the bottom of the 10th when Perez hit a walk-off three-run home run to left to give York the victory.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Hayes tossed six inning, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out two, and Waters pitched four and two-thirds innings, yielding eight runs on four hits with three strikeouts. Kris Regas (2-2) got the win after pitching a scoreless inning in the 10th, while Jeremy Hill (4-5) took the loss, surrendering three runs on two hits in one-third of an inning.

The Ducks return home on Monday to open a three-game series against the Somerset Patriots. First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35.
