York grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a two-run home run from Eric Patterson off Ducks starting pitcher Jared Lansford. The Ducks evened the ballgame in the bottom of the fourth on a pair of two-out RBI singles from Joash Brodin and Jan Vazquez off Revolution starter Scott Gorgen.

The score remained even at two until a two-out RBI double from Salvador Paniagua in the top of the eighth put the Revolution in front for good.

Neither starting pitcher factored into the decision. Lansford allowed two runs on five hits over six innings with two walks and four strikeouts. Gorgen went five and one-third innings, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five. Beau Vaughan (6-2) earned the win with a scoreless inning of relief, and Jeremy Accardo (4-7) received the loss after yielding one run on three hits in one inning of relief. Rommie Lewis earned his 22nd save of the year with a scoreless ninth inning.

Brodin led the Ducks with three hits in the game, while Fehlandt Lentini added two.
