14-hit attack too much for Ducks in middle game

(York, Penn., May 4, 2013) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the York Revolution 7-2 on Saturday night in the middle game of a three-game series at Sovereign Bank Stadium.

GAME AUDIO: Ryan Strieby’s RBI single and Dan Lyons’ sacrifice fly

Ryan Strieby put the Ducks on the board in the first with a two out RBI single to center off Revolution starter Matt Fox. York would answer right back in the bottom of the frame on a RBI double to left by Andy Marte off Ducks starter Bill Murphy.

The Revolution extended their lead in the second with two more runs on Tyler Graham’s RBI double to left and Jason Repko’s run-scoring groundout. Single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth increased the advantage 6-1 for York. A sacrifice fly to left by Dan Lyons in the seventh brought the Ducks within four, but that was as close as they would come.

Fox (1-0) earned the win, allowing one unearned run on five hits in five innings while striking out two. Murphy (0-4) suffered the loss, surrendering five runs on 10 hits and two walks in five innings.

Navarrete led the Ducks offensively with his second consecutive three-hit game.
