ANNUAL HOSPITAL VISITS BRING JOY TO CHILDREN

Ducks hand out donated toys at local pediatric units

(Central Islip, N.Y., Dec. 19, 2019) – The Long Island Ducks made their annual Holiday Hospital Visits on Wednesday to hand out toys donated by Ducks fans to children. Dozens of gifts were given to children at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, Northwell Health/Southside Hospital and Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.

QuackerJack, the nine-time Best Long Island Mascot, joined Lew Ford, Ducks all-time leading hitter, and The Wiseman of Ducks radio partner Oldies 98.1-FM for the heartwarming day. Children and their parents all enjoyed the surprise visits and new presents, with many posing for photographs with the trio.

Each December, the Ducks host a Holiday Toy Drive at Bethpage Ballpark. Fans are able to donate new, unwrapped toys for children in hospitals at the Waddle In Shop while they take care of their holiday shopping. Due to a terrific turnout, the Ducks will also be donating several gifts to Christmas Magic, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to keep the spirit of hope alive in the lives of Long Island’s homeless and underprivileged children by fulfilling holiday wishes.

The Ducks would like to thank everyone who took part in the Holiday Toy Drive as well as the staffs at Good Samaritan Hospital, Southside Hospital and Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to all!

The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, call (631) 940-DUCK or visit www.liducks.com.
