Fans bid on game-worn patriotic Ducks jerseys
(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 1, 2015) – The three-time Atlantic League champion Long Island Ducks concluded their annual Patriotic Jersey Auction during their game against the Bridgeport Bluefish on Saturday, August 1. Fans will be able to bid on these special red, white and blue jerseys, which were worn on July 4 to celebrate Independence Day and on Saturday, August 1, which was Military Appreciation Night at Bethpage Ballpark, presented by Northrop Grumman.
Bids started at $75 and will be increased in minimum $10 increments. Bidding ran through the conclusion of the top of the seventh inning during the August 1 game against the Bridgeport Bluefish.
Proceeds from the auction benefit the QuackerJack Foundation, the charitable arm of the Long Island Ducks. All donations are tax deductible. The QuackerJack Foundation has contributed to thousands of non-profit and like organizations each year while bringing awareness to worthy programs and causes in need of assistance on Long Island.
